The girl poked her head out a little farther.

"Don't run off, all right, little one?"
"The ice cream will be ready soon."
"If it's ready and you're not here, I won't give it to you."

They were dark and glistening.
Just looking at him made your heart melt.

The girl smiled and praised him.
Then she pulled her head back and looked at the scruffy man beside her.

She was a student who worked part-time in her free time.
