Frog God waited until the human appeared on the stairs, then quickly hopped over to the trash can.
It looked up at the trash can, which was many times taller than itself.
It showed no sign of hesitation.
It seemed to hop casually.
The next second, it landed firmly on top of the trash can.
Frog God looked down.
It spotted the lotus leaf right away.
But...
There wasn't much trash in the bin.
So the lotus leaf was far down inside.
Frog God tilted its head slightly.
It was debating something.
Should it jump into the trash can?
Or give up on the lotus leaf?
If it didn't jump in, it wouldn't be able to get the lotus leaf.
Its arms weren't long enough.
And obviously...
It looked around.
There wasn't anything nearby that could help it get the lotus leaf out.
So...
Jumping in was its only option.
But...
It was a trash can.
Frog God hesitated for a while.
Should it jump in and get the lotus leaf?
Or go back to where it had found the leaf last time and pick another one...
It couldn't quite make up its mind.
But soon, it realized...
It had forgotten where the lotus leaf had been last time.
At the thought of having to search again...
Frog God instinctively felt a little reluctant.
Finding its friend was something it absolutely had to do.
But finding a lotus leaf...
Never mind.
It would just pick the leaf out of the trash can.
Given the weather these past two days, it truly felt that its silly friend wouldn't notice it unless it had something conspicuous.
Once it had made up its mind, Frog God didn't dawdle.
It jumped straight into the trash can.
It landed lightly on
