The Little Black Dog
The little boy murmured softly.
The little black dog seemed to hear him. "Woof~"
The little black dog barked.
Its shiny black eyes stared unblinkingly at the little boy.
The little boy grew excited at once.
"Little Black!"
"Ah."
The woman drew in a sharp breath.
The little boy immediately turned around.
The woman gently stroked the back of the hand gripping the little boy's wrist.
Though she said nothing, the little boy understood that he had moved too suddenly and tugged at his mother's wound.
The little boy immediately froze.
But...
The little boy's voice wavered with tears.
"Mom."
"Can we not send Little Black away?"
The woman frowned.
"Didn't I tell you?"
"Your father promised to give Little Black to your fourth uncle's family."
"You can't go back on your word."
"Do you want your father to become someone who breaks his promises and gets talked about behind his back?"
The little boy opened his mouth...
He didn't know...
He just wanted Little Black...
"What's going on?"
A man's voice sounded.
The little boy looked up toward the voice.
The next second, his mouth fell open in surprise. "Fourth Uncle!"
How had Fourth Uncle come over?
"What brings you here?"
The man had the same puzzled look as his son.
"I happened to have something to do nearby."
Fourth Uncle smiled.
"I remembered you were bringing me the puppy today, so I thought I might as well come pick it up myself."
"That way, you wouldn't have to make the trip."
But...
Fourth Uncle looked at the little boy. "What's going on?"
"Tiger Cub?"
"Did your parents scold you?"
"Have you been crying?"
Why were his eyes so red?
