The little girl carefully hugged the two bags to her chest.
Her eyes curved into crescents.
"You're welcome."
Xiao Xiao smiled.
"If I didn't give them to you, I would've had to throw them away."
"It's lucky you like them."
The little girl puffed out her cheeks.
It would've been such a shame to throw them away.
She'd only worked up the courage to talk to big brother because she'd seen him about to toss the bags she'd been wishing for into the trash...
She'd been so nervous she'd felt like she was going to faint.
Luckily, things had turned out well.
Big brother was a really nice person.
She'd gotten the dessert shop bags she'd wanted.
The little girl beamed so widely that her teeth showed.
This was great.
A smile appeared in Xiao Xiao's eyes. "There are a few spoons in the bags, too."
"They're from the dessert shop."
"I thought you might like them."
"So I didn't throw them away."

The little girl looked down.
She carefully opened one of the bags and peered inside.
Hmm.
She couldn't see clearly.
She reached in to feel around.
Soon, the little girl felt several spoons.
She took one out.
As soon as she got a good look at it, the little girl's whole face lit up.
The spoon had the dessert shop's logo on it, too: a yellow duck wearing a little red artist's hat.
The spoon was a little chubby.
It was black.
Very cute.
The little girl turned the spoon over in her hands, reluctant to put it down.
"Do you like it?"
Xiao Xiao's lips curved up.
"I do!"
The little girl nodded at once.
