Child's Mom looked at the child's face, uncertain and alarmed.
Why was she so hot?
The child's face was flushed.
Child's Mom's heart skipped a beat.
She immediately reached out and pressed a hand to the child's forehead.
"What's wrong?"
Child's Dad noticed the change in Child's Mom's expression.
"...Anna has a fever!"
After feeling the child's forehead several times, Child's Mom cried out.
"What?!"
Child's Dad looked down.
The child's eyes were unfocused.
Her cheeks were bright red.
She was clearly dazed from the fever.
Child's Dad made a snap decision.
"We're taking Anna to the hospital!"
He immediately stood up, bent down, and scooped her into his arms.
He strode toward the door.
Child's Mom was about to follow when she suddenly remembered something and spun around.
A moment later, she ran out of the child's room with the child's coat in her hands.
She hurried after Child's Dad.
The nearest hospital was only a little over ten minutes away on foot.
Even so, to get there as quickly as possible, Child's Dad decided to drive.
Child's Mom sat in the passenger seat with the child in her arms.
Both of Anna's parents looked deeply worried.
Anna's parents took her to the emergency department.
She was already groggy from the fever.
After examining her, the doctors confirmed that she had a fever.
And it was quite high.
Watching the flushed child lying on the hospital bed with her eyes closed and an IV drip attached, Child's Mom carefully reached out and touched her cheek.
Tss—
Child's Mom's fingers jerked back.
She was still so hot.
With a temperature this high...
Could it cause lasting harm?
Child's Mom clenched her fingers.
"Don't worry."
Child's Dad tried to reassure Child's Mom.
