The old man grimaced in pain.

The old man glared at the little cat, whose eyes were full of wariness even as its body trembled. His voice turned fierce. "You little brat, you dare scratch me?"

The old man shook his injured hand, as if trying to shake off the pain on the back of it.

In truth, while the little cat's attention was on that hand, he seized his chance with the other, quickly grabbing the cat by the scruff.

"Meow~ Meow~"

The little cat struggled fiercely, its cries pitiful.

But with its scruff held fast, the little cat was powerless to resist.

"Stop squirming!"

The old man roared impatiently.

The little cat froze.

Just as it was about to struggle even harder, it realized it had been set down on the ground.

"What are you standing there for?"

"What a stupid cat."

"Go on, get out of here."

The old man waved dismissively.

Then, without sparing the little cat another glance, he turned and walked away.

"Meow~"

The little cat watched the old man's retreating back, confusion showing in its round, glistening eyes.

But it didn't dwell on it.

It shook its head, delighted to have escaped.

Then it turned and leaped onto the wall, soon disappearing into the distance.

Pipa Ghost watched the old man walk away.

Curiosity showed on his face.

He followed him.

"Meow~"

Several cats meowed happily at him.

A broad smile spread across Pipa Ghost's face too.

Hearing the commotion, the old man glanced back and frowned in confusion. "Why are there so many stray cats today?"

He shook his head and paid it no mind.
