Little White Fox fell into thought.
"Hiss~ What an outstanding performance~"
The White Snake raised its body, a strange glimmer passing through its scarlet, vertical pupils.
It had always done whatever it pleased.
If it liked something, it simply took it.
A performance this dazzling was surely worthy of accompanying its dance, wasn't it?
"Hiss~"
The White Snake hadn't been paying attention and got a solid rap on the forehead from Xiao Xiao.
It glared at him, annoyed.
"Don't get any funny ideas."
Xiao Xiao raised an eyebrow, then looked at Little White Fox, who seemed perfectly innocent. "A Jiu, you too."
"Hmph~"
"Hiss~"
A Jiu and A Bai gave matching little huffs.
The overlapping sounds made both monsters freeze.
They glared at each other, then looked away.
"Pipa ghost,"
Xiao Xiao tipped his head back to gaze at the vast, clear sky, its blue stretching unbroken across his field of vision. "Let's part ways here."
He turned his face slightly, the corner of his mouth lifting. "Don't go barging into human homes again next time."
"It's dangerous."
"If you run into trouble, make sure your friends come find me."
"Understand?"
"Heh-heh~"
The Pipa ghost obediently nodded.
Xiao Xiao stood up. "Pipa ghost, goodbye."
He glanced at the fountain, feeling a little regretful.
But the next moment, "Whoosh~"
Water burst into the air, scattering crystalline droplets that refracted the brilliant sunlight.
A faint halo surrounded the fountain.
Xiao Xiao froze.
Then he lowered his head to look at Little White Fox in his arms. "Thank you."
Little White Fox lazily glanced at Xiao Xiao. "I wanted to see it myself."
"Hiss~"
"Stupid fox. You're quick."
The White Snake twisted its body. "Lord Xiao Xiao, I can do that too."
