Xiao Xiao looked down at Fei Lian in his arms. "Do you know which floor Old Grandmother lives on?"
Following Fei Lian's directions, Xiao Xiao stopped on the third floor.
Noticing the direction Fei Lian was looking, he confirmed, "The right door?"
Fei Lian nodded. Xiao Xiao raised his hand and knocked. "Knock, knock, knock."
"Who is it?"
A voice came from inside, followed by the click of the lock.
The door opened from within.
"Master Xiao?!"
Wang Man cried out in surprise. "You're back?"
"Wait, how did you know my grandma's apartment number?"
"Master Xiao?"
Chi Xiuke and the others came out after hearing the commotion, looking a little surprised, too.
"Xiuxiu, did you tell Master Xiao my grandma's apartment number earlier?"
Wang Man was still hung up on that. When she saw Chi Xiuke come out behind them, she couldn't help asking.
"No."
Chi Xiuke shook her head.
She'd planned to go downstairs and meet Master Xiao as soon as he called.
"What's wrong, Manman? Has another one of your friends come by?"
The old woman came out, supported by a young man. The wrinkles at the corners of her eyes smoothed as she smiled. "Why are you all standing in the doorway? Come i—"
The old woman's voice abruptly stopped.
Her eyes, narrowed with a smile, suddenly flew open. Her lips trembled. "L-Little Guy?!"
Fei Lian leaped out of Xiao Xiao's arms and onto the floor.
The old woman pushed away the grandson supporting her and took a few unsteady steps forward, arms outstretched.
The next moment, Fei Lian sprang into her embrace.
The old woman's eyes grew slightly red at the corners, but her face lit up with the first carefree, unclouded smile she'd had in a long time.
