Westbrook brought the ball up to the top of the key and called for a pick-and-roll, using Davis's screen to accelerate past his defender before passing inside.

After setting the screen, AD rolled to a spot just inside the free-throw line and caught the ball. He followed with a shot fake, getting Claxton to step up, then immediately put the ball on the floor and drove right into the paint. Once he reached the basket, he gathered the ball and added another feint.

Unfortunately, he couldn't get Zhao Si off the ground, so AD simply went up strong at the rim.

He used his off hand to fend off the long arm reaching in to contest, then gently flicked the ball toward the basket with his right hand.

Unfortunately, his touch was still a little off.

The ball struck the side of the rim and bounced into Durant's hands on the other side.

After securing the defensive rebound, Durant immediately pushed up the floor to start the transition offense.

He dribbled beyond the three-point line and fired a long pass.

Up ahead, Paul George had already raced to just beyond the three-point line.

He caught Durant's pass without slowing, kept dribbling, and charged toward the Thunder's paint.

Just before reaching the free-throw line, George slammed the ball with his left hand and abruptly slowed down. He gathered it in midair with a sweeping motion, slipping past Chen Xi, then finished with a right-handed finger roll.

After a Wade-style hop step, he laid the ball in smoothly.

4–0.

Brooklyn had converted both of its opening possessions.

That was a good sign for them.

On the other end, Chen Xi had chased George into the paint. He quickly moved out along the baseline, then inbounded the ball to Westbrook.
