Rumble!
Accompanied by a tremendous noise that echoed across the battlefield, all of Marineford suddenly began to shake violently.
"What's going on?!"
The pirates in the midst of battle could not help stopping in alarm and looking around.
They soon discovered that the Marines opposite them were disengaging one after another, retreating toward the plaza under the officers' commands.
"Retreat!"
"Fall back to the plaza!"
A commander raised his saber toward the sky and shouted. Only after all the soldiers around him had run past did he sheath his blade.
Thinking of the plan about to be carried out, a vicious glint flashed through his eyes. He turned and charged toward the plaza. "Welcome to hell, you damned pirates!"
As though they had received some unified order, the Marine battle line retreated in perfect formation.
The pirates caught in the fierce fighting could not see the state of the entire battle line, and with their fighting spirit running high, they did not suspect much.
They only grew more excited and smug at the sight of their enemies fleeing before them.
"The Marines are scared! Hahaha!"
"Now's our chance, brothers!"
"Let's finish this in one push!"
The cold gleam of blades flashed as one. Frenzied expressions appeared on the pirates' faces as they raised their swords and guns, pursuing madly.
The division commanders leading the charge at the front clearly had a better grasp of the battlefield.
Flower Sword Vista, dressed in formal attire with two curled mustaches, stopped and glanced sideways at the burly, gleaming man nearby.
"Jozu, something's wrong."
"I know."
Jozu nodded gravely. "Don't overthink it. This is a rare chance to advance."
Having sailed the seas with their old man for so long, they naturally realized that the Marines' actions were abnormal.
Though they did not know
