It was a cool, breezy morning, with gentle sunlight.
The Going Merry sailed quietly across the sea as the waves softly rippled.

After finishing breakfast, Chopper walked out of the second-floor dining room on his two little legs and happened to see a News Coo land on the balcony railing.
"Good morning!"
Chopper cheerfully greeted it, then took two 50-Beli coins from his hat, held them up, and dropped them into the coin box hanging from its chest.
"Please give me the latest newspaper."
The News Coo pulled out a newspaper and tossed it down, then cried out in surprise.
"Caw—?!"
"I'm a reindeer, not a raccoon! Reindeer can read newspapers too, you bastard!" Chopper flew into a rage.
The startled News Coo shuddered, spread its wings, and flew into the sky, shedding several feathers.
"Hmph!" Chopper picked up the paper and, after calming down, headed toward the stern deck.
Beneath a sunshade stood a small table and two lounge chairs, with two glasses of juice set out. On such a rare clear and pleasant day, Reiner and Nami were comfortably sunbathing.
"Nami—!"
Chopper lightly hopped over to Nami's side and handed her the newspaper as if seeking praise. "I bought today's paper for you."
"Oh! Thanks, Chopper."
Nami rubbed his head, took the paper, and pulled three coins from her cleavage. "Here, 150 Beli for you."
"Thanks, Nami!" Chopper blushed as golden light sparkled in his eyes.
That was practically unheard of under normal circumstances. It could only be said that after suddenly becoming rich, Nami had become just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more generous.
It wasn't easy for Chopper to earn a little extra money, either.
Nami opened the newspaper, leaned back into her lounge chair, and shifted into a more comfortable position.
