As for what kind of "solution" he had in mind, Rozesh didn't press, and of course Akina Mountain Hachiman didn't say.
And so, the two old friends from their student days, who hadn't seen each other in a long time, settled down in New Jade Gate and waited for their official orders and the arrival of their "new boss."
Naturally, they were both men of action. While they waited, Rozesh quite sensibly joined the construction effort at New Jade Gate. He made the creative suggestion of building underground storage facilities in the solid rocky terrain near the planet's equator. If possible, they could even build a space elevator in the future. That would increase the efficiency of transporting goods from the surface to orbital factories by at least twenty percent.
Everyone thought the idea was very feasible. They had plenty of time, after all, and no shortage of able-bodied sandfolk looking for work.
What they didn't know was that while they were working at full tilt, the main characters hadn't arrived yet. Their other classmate, the true leader of the so-called "830 faction"—Miss Fina Li—had already boarded the Alliance's Poseidon 6 vessel, the Kexalu, and arrived at New Jade Gate with the Alliance's second military aid fleet, which was returning after unloading its cargo.
...Oh, by the way, Miss Fina Li was actually a lieutenant colonel by then. In recognition of her achievements at the front and her "special contributions on the propaganda and cultural exchange front," her promotion had been officially approved. Still, Lieutenant Colonel Fina Li's actual job remained that of a propaganda officer and military correspondent in the Propaganda Department of the Defense Committee. She still didn't have anyone under her command, but at least she enjoyed plenty of freedom.
All in all, as the top graduate
