"The blueprint for the future?" After a brief moment of stunned silence, Rosers quickly understood. An indescribable emotion flickered in his eyes, and he sighed. "What a dangerous thing to say. If we weren't alone here, I'd definitely think you were trying to get me killed."
"If I really wanted to get you killed, I'd put a sack over your head and toss you into the sea. I'm a psion, and plenty of people call me a genius. I could think of at least twenty ways to make sure no one found out." Yu Lian spoke half-jokingly, half-seriously. "But, Comrade Rosers, I really do think your stage shouldn't be limited to the military."
Yu Lian genuinely meant it.
Among the friends in the 830 Party, if Akina Mountain Hachiman was the future chief of staff and Michel the best military, political, and personnel officer, then Rosers was the best equipment and training officer. They were still a long way from perfect, of course, but at least they had the potential.
More importantly, commanders like him were usually all-around talents in both military and government affairs. His career prospects were much broader than that fellow Horatio Venn's.
It was a pity that, on the other timeline, he'd never had that opportunity.
Chester Rosers was silent for nearly half a minute before replying, neither agreeing nor disagreeing. "All right. I'll take that dangerous remark of yours as a blessing for your subordinate."
"What else would you take it as?" Yu Lian burst out laughing. "Even if I told you I thought highly of you and believed you'd become prime minister someday, you'd have to believe me."
"If Venn had said that, I'd have thought he was mocking me. But since it's you saying it, I can try working toward that goal." Rosers
