The so-called Dawn System was the system where Yu Lian and Brunhilde's fleets had first encountered the Marauders' main force, which had intercepted them at DL36 after they broke through the maze barrier deployed at the Devil's Eye. It was also the first system where the allied forces had discovered a naturally habitable planet.
Since this "Devil's Maze" region had officially been renamed the Dawn Region, it made sense for the DL36 system to be officially named the Dawn System as well.
The name did sound a little too ordinary. But remember, before the New Year holiday, when the allied high command met with representatives from the Galactic Civilization Council, King Soluka had suggested on the spot that the system be named the "Champion Yu System."
"Champion" didn't mean champion of a street-square dance competition, of course, but champion of the Festival of the God of War. And it was obvious who the "Yu" referred to.
