Yaxiu said, "Boss Guimo's guerrilla fighters, the Children of Kha, seized gold, silver, cash, and other valuables from the big shots. A good chunk of it was laundered and cashed out through his underworld contacts, then wired into these associations' accounts."
There was natural admiration in Yaxiu's voice.
Yu Lian silently sighed. Robbing the rich to help the poor was certainly a good thing, but how to play the hero and how to help the poor were both skills with a high barrier to entry.
But if even doing good required skill, wasn't that the world's fault?
"After last month's protest failed, Mr. Guimo wanted to know who had betrayed everyone, so he asked us to investigate." Yaxiu shrugged. "Can't be helped. Most of the Children of Kha's leaders are wanted criminals now. We're the only ones who look relatively respectable."

Yaxiu gave him a thumbs-up, flashing a row of gleaming teeth. "I'm serving two masters now—or, no, three, if you count yourself! That's just how people like me live."
Anyway, given the situation, it was probably only a matter of time before the Alliance authorities produced a long string of very "thorough and airtight" evidence proving that the Children of Kha and these labor mutual-aid organizations were affiliated with the Serpent.
