Oh? The "Master Artificer," one of the thirteen faces of the World-Serpent, was already gone? Yu Lian couldn't help feeling a little wistful. He knew a bit about the Serpent Head's life. The man was the undisputed top tech fanatic in the World-Serpent, a mad scientist who had replaced ninety percent of his organs with cybernetics.
The Fourteenth Workshop and the Steel Skeleton Legion under his command were also sworn enemies of the Brotherhood of Mechanists led by Trend and Summers.
As we all know, the Brotherhood of Mechanists' core members were also cyborgs. But the Brotherhood insisted that cybernetic organs were tools, that people should take pride in their human souls, and that they should never forget they were human. That said, cyborgs were pretty tough to kill. On another timeline, even after the Serpent's Den had been wiped out by the allied nations, the Master Artificer himself had still escaped.
This mad and dangerous cybernetic-science terrorist had finally died years later, in a joint operation by the Brotherhood of Mechanists and the Adventurers' Association. Yu Lian had taken part in that operation. He'd seen the man die when his own battery went into meltdown, then collapse into a vortex of energy fields.
But his disciples and the Fourteenth Workshop had survived, and were still active across the universe.
By the time Yu Lian had returned, the tangled grudges between those two cyborg "mutual aid organizations" could probably have filled dozens of movies in the Family Hero franchise.
But on this timeline, the World-Serpent's Master Artificer—the leader of the Fourteenth Workshop and the Steel Skeleton Legion,
