A few seconds later, countless flashes appeared beyond the windows on the left side of the bridge. Four County-class heavy cruisers and six Starlight-class light cruisers, tasked with escorting the fleet, were firing their small-caliber kinetic main guns at the Imperial warships.
...Well, that was the beauty of railguns. In theory, they had unlimited range, so even small ships could bare their teeth at capital ships. Even if they lacked firepower, even if all they could do was show up and offer moral support, it was still better than nothing.
Yu Lian watched the shells rain down on the Imperial warships. Even now, the fleet was holding formation and still trying to carry out its maneuvers. Yet for some reason, Yu Lian could sense that the Imperial fleet's behavior wasn't calm and composed. It was an instinctive reaction born of panic.
Perhaps he could sense their panic with his psychic awareness.
At this point, Yu Lian no longer cared how the Imperial forces reacted. Only two Flame Dragons were under the combined fleet's fire. So where were the other four Flame Dragons and four Phoenixes?

Of course, having his adjutant report the results was mostly a matter of ceremony. In fact, before Rozers could answer, Yu Lian had already caught sight of a signal source appearing in one of the windows.
