Aboard the Cosmic Log, Taia watched the Imperial fleet's final round of bombardment against the Void Lord. After the crisscrossing flashes of red light, the terrifying mass of Void fog continued to collapse, seemingly on the path to destruction.
Then, in a flash bright enough to resemble a helium flash and a violent spatial tremor, the Void Lord that had caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and over a million injuries in the Galactic Empire finally disappeared.
...Huh. Did that thing really just die like that? Taia felt that something wasn't quite right. If she were still an adventurer, she'd probably have tracked it down to the very end. But now she was a commander, a brigadier general, and had to finish the mission first.
Hopefully this had all been part of Junior Uncle's predictions. Otherwise, letting a... Well, that sounded a little disrespectful. Even so, letting a barely surviving Void Lord escape would be a terrible waste. Its body was packed with the most precious zero-element resources!
