But just then, tongues of flame shot skyward, soaring tens of thousands of meters high and blocking the way ahead of us.
Beyond the continent of fire, dazzling light seemed to cast shadows through the gray fog. As they sank into its shifting waves, they gradually coalesced into the outline of a colossal figure, hundreds of thousands of meters tall.
It was a towering, humanoid form that reached the heavens, with tens of thousands of arms spread out from its sides like curtains blotting out the entire sky.
It was the same old principle. Anything immense was bound to be spectacular and grand—and therefore indescribable. Just appearing on the horizon and standing there, gazing down at the earth, was enough to leave anyone paralyzed with terror.
Another Void Lord?
It seemed that just as Duchess Garibeyan had said, the mysterious creatures at the top of the food chain in the Void had been drawn by the battle and were starting to close in.
