As it turned out, a main gun without skilled gunners—especially a skilled chief gunner—really wasn't as useful as high-speed secondary guns that could achieve miracles through sheer power and rapid fire. The main guns at the front of the Azure Princess fired a salvo, but only managed to scrape the side armor of the pirate warship. In terms of damage, they didn't even match the shots fired by the escort ships from much farther away.
Next time, I'll have to be more careful when choosing the crew. Who says a cruise ship can't have a qualified chief gunner? the captain thought.
But there was no point in worrying about it now. He couldn't stop the pirate warship as it accelerated relentlessly toward them, charging like an oversized assault craft.
And so, the famous Azure Princess was struck head-on by an ugly aircraft that was missing half its body. It was, after all, a cruise ship, and couldn't be clad in several layers of thick armor like a large warship of the same size. Its fragile hull was torn open in an instant by the force-field ram standard on pirate ships.
The connector inside the ram, like a giant syringe for livestock, brutally stabbed into the hull of the Azure Princess. Before the air pressure at the connection could stabilize, the connector opened on the spot. The first ones to charge through the passage into the ship were a large group of hideous combat robots.
The tower-like robots strode through corridors decorated with the utmost elegance and luxury. Eight menacing spiderlike limbs unfolded from their backs, each equipped with a cannon and a blade of light. A cold gleam flashed across the frontal armor on their chests, like the face of a ferocious demon.
Setting aside whether it made any sense
