"The Throne" wasn't particularly rare among the astral rings, and its various developmental abilities were quite balanced. But the reason it hadn't become an all-purpose option like "Balance" was that the innate skills awakened by this path were all related to enhancing the power of groups. It was naturally suited to leaders.
Even so, Yu Lian had never heard of any such thing as a King's Heart being required for a "Throne" astral ring Saint's advancement.
Put simply, there were plenty of "Thrones." You could find a whole company's worth among the Starrealm Knights' apprentice squires who hadn't graduated yet. If everyone needed a King's Heart, wouldn't the whole world be thrown into chaos?
Or was the Empire forbidding anyone with a "Throne" from becoming a Saint unless they were a candidate for the throne? Don't be ridiculous. Wasn't Duke Salduran, who had already gone to the side of the Spirit of the Universe, also a "Throne"?
