Many people thought that once a hero's legendary adventures came to an end and he put on a crown, the story was over.
Idealistic tales of adventure had to give way to the realities of politics, and of course there was nothing left worth reading.

Scientists born among commoners and even slaves took their royal commendations and prize money and set out to explore the mysteries of the universe's scientific frontiers.
Among the Starrealm Knights, the superhuman elite, scions of noble houses, and common-born upstarts still couldn't stand one another. Yet under the Regent's careful management, they formed a perfect balance.
With the support of the royal family, explorers began surveying all the remaining uncharted regions of the Galactic Empire. Thus, the Luknar Corridor in the Far Shore Nebula, the New Shenzhou Sector hidden beyond the Mountain-Sea Route, the seven routes of the Grand Ocean, and the golden planets of the Helots all appeared in this world a century earlier than they had in another.
