I had to admit, passing messages through a neural network was fast.
The complete mental connection had lasted less than half a minute. Yu Lian had quickly learned from the giant slug that Summer had left four warlords on Black Labor. Each one had the authority to reproduce independently, expand its brood and army, and strike at the Imperial forces. Of course, all of this had to be done while keeping themselves as well-hidden as possible.
Then again, stealth, expansion, and going on the offensive formed an impossible triangle. How to handle it was up to the "theater commander" and "group leader" to decide.
So far, they seemed to be doing a decent job.
After migrating and fighting for the past six months, two more broods had settled on remote desert planets on the frontier. They had grown their populations into the hundreds of thousands among the rugged mountains, and had even successfully ambushed an Imperial military supply station.
The last brood was the one the Silent had encountered half a month ago.
It had gathered quite a few "elite units" and roamed the stars, practically serving as a small guerrilla fleet. It had even managed to destroy a deep-space observation station and help cover the escape of two refugee ships fleeing the Empire.
Yu Lian was naturally pleased. The warlords' intelligence was steadily improving, which also showed that Summer's abilities were growing stronger. In the past, he might have gone on high alert, bracing for the worst.
But now, he felt only joy and wistfulness, as though his little girl had finally grown up.
Of course, hiding near Steel Path Four to ambush an Imperial patrol fleet had been a little reckless. If the Silent hadn't happened to pass by, they might have dealt the Imperial forces a heavy
