There wasn't time to check? You've been under attack for twelve hours now. What exactly have you been doing? Just crouching there with your ass in the air and your hands over your head, waiting for rescue?

Miss Serlue gave a cold snort somewhere beyond the screen's view. She even went so far as to set her warhammer down on the table.

Sobek was somewhat displeased too, though he felt more sympathy than anything else. His eyes narrowed, filled with pity.

Perhaps sensing something from the other side, Major General Kaeni hurriedly added, "But, sir, I'm certain it was him! The Demon Dragon whose name must not be spoken!"

Sobek's eyes instantly sharpened.

He and his comrades had been mentally prepared for this for a long time, but they still felt the pressure.

"What makes you say that?" Serlue asked bluntly. She had grown quite comfortable playing the bad cop in the group.

"The fighter that attacked my flagship was a Lightwing! One of that Red Wraith's. I saw it with my own eyes." He opened his eyes wide, naturally hoping to show off his excellent eyesight. Unfortunately, he looked like someone with hyperthyroidism.

"I used to be an aircraft carrier captain. I know the new fighters inside and out. It was him, it really was! Waaaah! We're all from Earth, so why would he attack one of his own? Why don't Earthlings help Earthlings? There must be something wrong here, it has to be! Waaaah! It was so brutal! He was utterly brutal!" General Kaeni babbled helplessly.

He probably knew that he was bound to face a court-martial. Still, he was human, and his entire force hadn't been wiped out; nor had he fled in the face of the enemy. He probably wouldn't be executed by firing squad.
