Port 3 was also the port nearest to the fortress command room and central control room.
They breached the fortress's outer wall and entered the port.

With the added support of psychics and ricochet robots, the first wave of landing troops took only half an hour to secure the fortress's first military port. They even captured two destroyers that had been left completely unguarded.
They opened the military port's gates to welcome the landing craft that were already standing by.
Once the fully armed marines had entered the fortress aboard their landing craft, the ghost warship—which still looked like an Alliance Titan—turned around in an orderly fashion and unleashed precise, long-range bombardment on the imperial fleet preparing to approach the fortress.
