Like his master's little Black Tortoise, this was also a rare phantom beast capable of freely moving between the material world and the Imaginary Realm. It possessed exceptional intelligence, could fly freely through the aether sea and outer space, and was generally friendly toward humans.

"Aren't you the Sevenfold Sacred Fish? I can't see where the 'snake' part comes in," Yu Lian said. Though, to be fair, he couldn't see much that looked like a fish, either.
"Translation issue." The phantom beast of the Imaginary Realm conjured up another sign, then raised the one reading "I am a snake" a little higher, as if to emphasize the point.
