The charge of the Pilgrim sent a violent tremor through every compartment and passageway around the port, as if they were in the middle of an earthquake.
Fortunately, the well-trained assault troops were prepared. They kept moving even through the shaking and soon converged on the area around the port from all directions.
In the twenty minutes since the Pilgrim entered the fortress, they had assembled more than twenty thousand assault troops and an equal number of combat robots around the port's outer perimeter. They gathered at the fortress's already-collapsed gate, ready to attack.
The awkward part was that the dragonship's alchemically reinforced special prow had acted like a mighty battering ram, wrecking most of the enormous port and conveniently smashing down the gate as well.
The entrance to the passage was wide enough for more than twenty large tanks and transport ships to pass side by side, but it had already been completely blocked by the collapsed metal framework.
General Yelik quickly received a report from the front line and could only send in engineering vehicles. Of course, the troops also had to hurry and attack through other routes.
"As far as I know, there are eight passages connecting us to Dock 2," General Yelik said. "You can attack from any of them."
"There are actually twenty routes, both large and small. If you count the various ventilation shafts and maintenance conduits, there are at least a hundred." The frontline commander reported this, but could not hide the bitterness in his expression. "We're searching for a route in."
"Move simultaneously and attack at multiple points," General Yelik said. "We have an overwhelming numerical advantage!"
"Understood. Attacking at multiple points." The frontline commander stood at attention. "Actually, I've already split the grenadiers who've reached the scene into fifty squads, and
