However, during the Demonic Dragon's passage through the region the previous month, King Vellent had holed up in Chenxiao Fortress to avoid battle. As a result, important shipyards, weapons factories, research institutes, and heavy industrial facilities of all kinds had been smashed to pieces. On top of that, the Earth Fleet had taken out several garrisons belonging to the regional security forces, leaving large areas without law enforcement.
