Yu Lian was utterly baffled by the situation. What he didn't know, of course, was that the person he was pursuing—the illustrious "Bluebeard" Odergot, one of the great pirate kings of the universe—was even more alarmed than he was.
The great pirate king was a massive Wolfling. Perhaps he'd gone awry while practicing psionics, because his fur was a deep blue-black, with a faint hint of blue. He looked even more fearsome than an ordinary Wolfling.

Odergot had an enormous grip. It looked as though he could crush a shot put in his hand. His Minlan navigator immediately grimaced in pain and let out a few agonized wails before being squished into a puddle.
The water then trickled through the pirate king's fingers and gathered again nearby, reforming into the body of the Minlan navigator.
"I was just the first to find out! And how many times have we used this route to ambush passing merchant ships? We've even gone after warships plenty of times! We've traveled back and forth so often—like we're going through a city gate. It's no surprise
