In an instant, Yaxiu felt as if his skin were melting. The pain nearly made him scream. He knew that if the robot—who called himself "Mr. Summers the Engineer"—hadn't stepped in front of him, both he and the young reporter would have been badly injured.
In fact, the reporter had already let out a pained groan, but at the last moment, she held it in. She bit down hard on her tongue to keep herself from making another sound.
