Feifei looked utterly at ease, as if she'd merely taken a leisurely stroll through a maze at an amusement park. Only then did Yu Lian relax a little. He had gotten through that "Mirror Maze" smoothly, but he'd used cheats like "Aetherform" and "Aether Breath" to do it. For ordinary psychics, a maze full of mental traps and cognitive distortions was deadly.
Yu Lian had complete faith in Feifei's quick wits and her iron will, but he couldn't help worrying.
Still, her mental state looked even better than Jiafei'er's, who had the "Lionheart War Banner," and she didn't seem to have a scratch on her.
It didn't really make sense. No matter how quick-witted Feifei was, she hadn't spent long cultivating her supernatural abilities. Her strength should have been about on par with those nameless Starrealm Knight extras.
Sure enough, after Ina arrived in her heraldry mecha, Jiafei'er's subordinates began showing up one by one. They were five nameless Starrealm Knights. The strongest had reached the third ring, and every one of them was fully armed. Yet they looked utterly exhausted, as though they'd just endured a series of forced marches and fierce battles.
One of them even jabbed himself with a stim(ow)ulant without a word. From how practiced he was, it was obvious he'd gotten used to giving himself shots.
To be fair, the Empire was genuinely frightening in this regard. When necessary, they had no qualms about supplying their soldiers with excessive doses of stim(ow)ulants. It wasn't unusual for a large number of soldiers to drop dead after a battle. But plenty of officers from noble families were the first to take the drugs, so the men below them didn't dare complain.
Of course, these five were psychics, so they probably wouldn't overdose themselves to death. Probably...
