Lu Yin panted heavily, black death qi swirling in his pupils as he growled restlessly in place.

Silver stood before him, frowning as he watched him with curiosity.

Witch Spirit God was there too.

"How is it? Have you figured out the reason?" Witch Spirit God asked.

Silver shook his head. "Should we summon the clan leader?"

"No need," Witch Spirit God replied. "They have more important research to conduct. So, has this kid succeeded?"

Silver studied Lu Yin. Lu Yin suddenly raised his head and roared at him. Silver's eyes flickered; he raised a hand and pressed it against Lu Yin's shoulder. Lu Yin quieted down.

Silver frowned deeply. He had suppressed Lu Yin, and the suppression of death qi should have worked as expected. But something felt off. He didn't have the same sense of control he felt when suppressing other members of the Death Nether Race, though he had indeed suppressed him. He could feel the death qi inside Lu Yin lying dormant.

He couldn't believe that Lu Yin had made the death qi lie dormant himself. Even members of the Death Nether Race couldn't control it so quickly. But what was this strange feeling?

Then Silver stared at Lu Yin's pupils. They hadn't turned white. That was what puzzled him most.

When ordinary people absorbed death qi, their pupils changed color whether they succeeded or not. So what was going on? Death qi was emanating from Lu Yin's pupils, but they hadn't turned white. Strange.

"How is he, exactly? Can he undergo the second stage of bodily transformation?" Witch Spirit God asked in a low voice.

Silver replied respectfully, "His pupils haven't changed. It would be best not to proceed with the Corpse King transformation, or the consequences may be irreversible."

Witch Spirit God was displeased.
