Mist drifted among the mountains, surrounding the bamboo grove and lending it a quiet, serene air. A short distance away, a breeze stirred. Lu Yin looked out and saw a great river surging past.
This was the Mirage Domain.
He had never imagined that he would come to the Mirage Domain—the place Mr. Daheng had gone to such lengths to reach—like this, brought here by the Progenitor and Mr. Mu.
So this was the Mirage Domain?
Lu Yin stood where he was. Before they had come, the Progenitor had warned him that the Mirage Domain held everything he wanted, along with dangers he could not foresee. He had to be wary of everything he saw.
The Progenitor's warning told Lu Yin that this place was nowhere near as beautiful and serene as it appeared.
Even the mist surrounding him might not be mist at all. He had seen too many things like it that were not really mist.
As for the river in the distance, Lu Yin wanted to get closer and take a look. Through the mist, he could only make out a vague shape.
A river that flowed must have an upstream and a downstream, a direction in which it ran. Water nurtured life, yet though Lu Yin had been in the Mirage Domain for a while now, he had seen no sign of life.
Just then, the wind suddenly picked up.
It swept away the mist behind Lu Yin, revealing a stone stele.
Lu Yin looked at it. Nine characters were carved into the stele: "Ascend Primeval Realm, Cross Tribulation, attain immortality."
Could this be the stone stele the Bai Clan's patriarch had seen?
Lu Yin had first learned of the Mirage Domain through Lao Dian. Lao Dian's master, the Bai Clan's patriarch, had stumbled upon the
