No one knew how much time had passed. Red-faced Mebis had nearly recovered from her injuries, and Elder Dan Gu had long since recovered as well. Although he couldn't draw on the statue's power, with the Heavenly King Card, he could still barely hold his own against a Progenitor for a time. He simply couldn't use the statue's power to fight.

Second Life and the others had recovered too. They couldn't leave the Mirage Domain, so they could only stay here with Lu Yin.

On this day, a streak of golden light flashed by. Lu Yin, Red-faced Mebis, and Elder Dan Gu hurried after it. They hadn't been mistaken—it was Star Toad.

Star Toad had gone to the Forbidden Land. Legend said there was a path to immortality there, and even Red-faced Mebis hadn't known whether it could make it out alive. Yet now, it had returned.

Lu Yin was curious about what Star Toad had experienced.

By the River of Time, Star Toad stood with its back to Lu Yin and the others, staring blankly at the river. Copper Coins hung haphazardly around its neck, and the wounds from the sword strike of the blood-colored figure were still bleeding.

No matter how he looked at it, Star Toad didn't seem to have recovered. If anything, it looked worse.

Its back also seemed rather forlorn, as though it had suffered some kind of blow.

"Toad, are you all right?" Red-faced Mebis asked tentatively.

Star Toad's body swayed, leaning forward as though it were about to fall into the River of Time. Lu Yin instinctively wanted to give it a push.

Lu Yin, Red-faced Mebis, and Elder Dan Gu tacitly agreed not to warn it. The damn toad was useful, but its death wouldn't be a bad thing, either. Lu Yin
