Mr. Wei looked into Lu Yin's eyes. "Your gaze tells me you didn't see clearly." As he spoke, he took out another paper cutout. This time, it was a woman again.
"Guess who she is?"
Lu Yin raised a hand to stop him. "Enough. No need to cut another one. I recognize her."
Mr. Wei furrowed his brow. "Your eyes don't look like it."
Lu Yin scoffed. "You're set on cutting another one, aren't you? You said earlier that we weren't enemies. If you make another cut, we'll be enemies."
Mr. Wei studied Lu Yin, then slowly lowered the scissors. "I hope you're telling the truth."
"Hope?" Lu Yin raised an eyebrow and touched the corner of his mouth again. There was still blood there. "Didn't you build a bridge and see the future? Why would you still hope?"
"You should've seen what I'd do and what choices I'd make."
A flicker crossed Mr. Wei's eyes, but he said nothing.
Lu Yin glanced at the scissors in Mr. Wei's hand. "If you'd made that cut just now, I'd have been impressed. For the moment, I can't think of a way to deal with you. But you didn't." He raised one finger and smiled. "That means there's one possibility: the bridge you built has reached its end."
Mr. Wei suddenly took out a paper cutout and snipped it.
At the same time, Lu Yin stepped forward and used Parallel Time. He swung his hand, fingers curled as though grasping something, though he held nothing. In a single step, he flashed past Mr. Wei. Blood streaked across the air before Mr. Wei, and his body flew backward. The terrifying pressure rocked Yixian Academy, plunging heaven and earth into darkness.
Lu Yin slowly turned. At some point, a sword had appeared in his
