Rather than say that the Mother Tree had spread open the heavens and earth, it would be more accurate to say it had opened up the universe and starry sky. Heaven above and earth below, stars turning, the primordial vastness of the universe, the land meeting the horizon, moonlight cascading down—and at the same time, sunlight glaring brightly. Against the blue-green firmament as its backdrop, the entire starry sky looked like a painted celestial panorama.
