After hearing Gulles, Lu Yin raised an eyebrow and looked at her with a half-smile. "You want a share?"

Gulles raised her brows. "You don't want to split it?"

The two stared at each other.

Balaro tugged on Gulles and whispered, "We can't be seen, or if word gets back to the academy, it won't look good for your brother."

Gulles nodded and said to Lu Yin, "Have fun by yourself. We'll hide." With that, she and Balaro concealed themselves.

Lu Yin did not object. He was not comfortable having those two around anyway. It was better that they hid.

In the distance, two figures slowly appeared.

Ten minutes later, a notification spread through the regional network: two more people had been defeated.

Five days had passed. The many students had originally thought the Star Pirate had stopped, but he had appeared again without any warning.

Gulles excitedly looked at Lu Yin. "Hurry up. How much did you get? Split the loot."

Lu Yin looked at Gulles. "Are you sure?"

Gulles stared at Lu Yin and muttered, "You're not shameless enough to try keeping it all for yourself, are you?"

Lu Yin thought about it, then tossed a Star Energy Crystal to Gulles. "Take it."

Gulles was furious and hurled it straight at Lu Yin. "Bastard, you're so stingy."

Lu Yin smiled. "You were the one who didn't want it. Don't blame me." He had long seen that something was off with this woman's personality. She was helping him rob people because she was unhappy herself. Even if he gave her no Star Energy Crystals, she would still help him—unless she could snatch the loot back from him. Lu Yin was not worried at all that she would quit.

With Gulles, the insider, helping him, Lu Yin's path of robbery went remarkably smoothly. Over the next few days, he robbed several groups and forcibly scraped together five cubic meters of Star Energy Crystals. Even Gulles turned green with envy at the sight.

There were still four days until the second batch of Trial Takers arrived. Lu Yin encountered his first true crisis since the apocalypse: he had been surrounded by seven students, three of whom were among the academy's strongest.

On the top floor of an abandoned county-town supermarket, Lu Yin swept his gaze over the group. Gulles had discovered through her Personal Terminal that there were only two people here, yet seven had suddenly appeared. The other five were not wearing Personal Terminals; like him, they had hidden theirs.

"So you're the Star Pirate? Only two thousand in battle power. Looks like your battle technique must be quite formidable," a burly-looking student said harshly. He was one of the academy's strongest.

Beside him, a woman with an ordinary face but a voluptuous figure giggled sweetly. "Quite a few people use their Star Energy Crystals to train battle techniques instead of cultivating. Junior, are you the same? Why don't you tell your senior sister what battle technique you use?"

Lu Yin looked at the woman, the corners of his lips curving upward. "Want to know? Come try it."

The woman giggled and raised a hand, aiming an Energy Gun at Lu Yin. "Junior, do you know that sometimes, fighting doesn't necessarily depend on yourself? External tools are important too."

At the same time, the others also took out Energy Guns and aimed them at Lu Yin.

The student's Ring Armor instantly shattered, and his body was blasted down to the ground. Lu Yin then spun, unleashing the Void Splitting Palm in every direction. The immense force crushed through the floors and shook apart the air. Four of the remaining six students were seriously injured, while the last two academy powerhouses tore through the Void Splitting Palm and charged at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin's gaze turned icy. Both hands shot out, stars appearing in his palms as he struck one palm at each opponent.

The ground beneath them was completely shattered. The three plummeted straight down, crushing into the earth as the abandoned supermarket was blasted in half.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through Lu Yin's back. The student whom he had knocked to the ground earlier had stabbed a sword into his body. Blood stained his clothes red. The stars in Lu Yin's Heavenly Star Palm exploded, blasting the two opponents back. He spun around, grabbed that student's arm, pulled out the short sword, and slashed. The student's pupils shrank, and he immediately released the hilt and retreated. Lu Yin's slash missed, but he casually hurled the short sword backward. Its blade swept past, cutting open one student's cheek and splashing blood onto the wall. The short sword then pierced through more than a dozen buildings before embedding itself in an armored vehicle.

The ruined buildings swayed unsteadily as smoke and dust filled the air.

Lu Yin panted heavily. The pain in his back kept his nerves taut. These three academy powerhouses were all nearly at Bailie's level, slightly stronger than Willow. With the three surrounding him, he had nowhere to escape.

In the distance, Gulles and Balaro watched, their eyes flickering.

"Do you think we should kick him while he's down and rob him back?" Gulles asked eagerly.

Balaro pondered it. "We can, but we should wait until he's seriously injured."

Gulles said smugly, "At least Ede isn't stupid. He knew to set an ambush. Otherwise, I really would have helped for nothing."

Balaro was surprised. "You knew this was a trap?"

"Idiot, of course I didn't. But as long as Ede isn't stupid, he would definitely think of setting a trap. I can lead this bastard around to rob people, and Ede can use me in turn to ambush him. No one here is stupid," Gulles said, rolling her eyes at Balaro.

The Void Splitting Palm slammed viciously into the burly man. The man gritted his teeth and endured the blow head-on, but his body was sent flying more than ten meters away, smashing through a supermarket pillar. In an instant, the supermarket completely collapsed, countless rocks crashing down.

With a bang, Lu Yin and the others burst out of the ruins. One of them crushed a crystal, and surging winds transformed into azure blades that slashed toward Lu Yin. Lu Yin charged directly into the azure blades, lightning flickering across his armor. The blades were completely ineffective against him. Lu Yin passed through them and appeared before the man, then smashed him violently to the ground with the Heavenly Star Palm. That strike nearly forced the man to vomit up his organs, and he fainted on the spot.

The other two immediately retreated when they saw that things had gone wrong.

"I'll do it," Balaro said.

Lu Yin snorted. "No. Your hands are dirty."

Balaro was livid.
