Lu Yin stood on the shore of the Dead Sea, gazing into the distance. Water and sky blurred together in an endless expanse of murky yellow, like the Yellow Springs where the dead were buried. A chill ran through him.
Was there really an inheritance on the other side of the Dead Sea?
Was the Ten Arbiters member who had reached the Star Ascension Platform atop the peak the same person as the one who had crossed the Dead Sea? Or had more than one Ten Arbiters member succeeded?
Lu Yin was curious about all of it.
"Brother Lu, long time no see." Kuang Wang approached from not far away, casually shoving aside a few students who had tried to strike up a conversation with Lu Yin. He was quite overbearing.
Lu Yin looked at Kuang Wang and smiled. "Long time no see, senior. You've become even more impressive."
Kuang Wang smiled. "All these people want to cross the Dead Sea with you, but they're not qualified."
Lu Yin didn't deny it. He wasn't a bad person, but he wasn't a saint, either. Bringing one more person could mean one more danger; there was no need to take unnecessary risks. Aside from Coco and the others, anyone who wanted to come along had to be strong enough. Kuang Wang, for instance, had clearly come because he wanted to cross the Dead Sea, too.
"Brother Lu, let's be frank. I'd like to cross the Dead Sea with you. Name your conditions," Kuang Wang said boldly.
