Xing Fan withdrew her gaze. Her grudge against Lu Yin was the greatest humiliation of her life. That battle had dragged her straight down from her lofty position as a Lower Supreme God.
And she didn't even dare resent Lu Yin.

Star Toad, meanwhile, felt an inexplicable swell of pride. A haughtiness that came from deep within made it want to say something, but thankfully, reason held it back.
Kantian Eternal Life arrived. "Well? Do you feel anything?"
Whenever he looked at Star Toad, he couldn't help feeling apprehensive, repulsed, hateful, and afraid. Those feelings came from an instinctive reaction to the Seven Treasures Heavenly Toad Clan.
Star Toad shook its head. "I don't feel anything."
"Looks like they haven't come close yet. You're really lucky."
Star Toad blinked. "Who? Me?"
"Yeah. I've never seen a Seven Treasures Heavenly Toad as lucky as you."
"What do you mean?" Star Toad asked, confused.
Kantian Eternal Life sighed. "If you hadn't ended up out here, you might have been gone long ago, eaten until not even your bones remained."
Star Toad was shocked. "What do you mean? Who would eat me?"
"Who else? The Seven Treasures Heavenly Toads, of course."
"But aren't they my kin?"
"Heh. Your kin? Yes, your kin. The closer the kin, the more
