When the final stroke was complete, heaven and earth vanished. Darkness swallowed everything before his eyes. But only for an instant. Before Lu Yin could think it over, he opened his eyes again, and a riot of colors lit up the Dark Starry Sky. An enormous tree stretched beyond sight, its crown nowhere to be seen,
Vibrant light streamed upward from its roots like countless rivers, converging at the crown to form branches that drooped down.
The branches were a riot of colors. They hung down, transforming into specks of light that drifted slowly toward the ground like fireflies.
He couldn't see how far the branches spread. He could only see the many-colored light replacing everything.
Lu Yin had seen this scene before. It was where he'd been when the red line merged with the Divine Power Planet. This was The Unknown.
He abruptly turned to look beside him. A cliff face rose at his back, deep in shadow. Branches hung down, blocking his view. Through the blur, he could make out hanging coffins in the distance, but couldn't tell what color they were.
He looked below. The coffins hung suspended over an unfathomable abyss, but as the colorful motes drifted down, familiar outlines gradually emerged: doors. Endless doors. They covered the ground beneath him.
Had he come to The Unknown?
No. He hadn't come here in person. The Red Hanging Coffin and his consciousness had appeared here. His consciousness, right? He clenched his fist. Yes, it was his consciousness.
"Red Hanging Coffin. It's been so long. I've missed you, Qi Xu." A voice came from somewhere, drawing Lu Yin's attention.
"Heh-heh. Qi Xu is dead. The one who's appeared here is a little fellow."
"What kind of little fellow?"
"One with soft, tender skin."
"Ha-ha-ha-ha!"
"Ha-ha..."
