After hearing Jiu Wen, Lu Yin nodded. "Yeah. We could be wiped out any day."
"Does your civilization have any Eternal Life Realm experts?" Ba Yue asked.
"We do," Lu Yin replied.
"How many?"
"One."
"Just one?" Ba Yue sounded disappointed.
"Having one is already pretty good, considering you're the descendants of bait," Jiu Wen said.
Lu Yin frowned, but quickly relaxed.
"But with you, that makes two. And a rogue is even more useful than an Eternal Life Realm expert." Jiu Wen smiled at Lu Yin. "A rogue can kill at will."
"You seem to have a particular fondness for killing."
"Using killing to stop killing is the way to survive in the universe."
"That's the Wushang Dao."
"Fangcun Distance is merciless. That's why the Wushang Dao exists. Only the Wushang Dao can help you reach Eternal Life more easily." Jiu Wen took a sip of wine and shook his flask. "Your civilization has only one Eternal Life Realm expert, so you should know very well how difficult it is to reach Eternal Life."
"The Wushang Dao lets you transcend Life Essence," Lu Yin said.
Jiu Wen's eyes flashed. "What made you suddenly think of Life Essence?"
Lu Yin smiled faintly. "There's a lot I can think of. Sometimes I like to daydream."
Jiu Wen chuckled and shook his head. "You're cultivating your state of mind, so naturally you think of more things. But, young man, if you can't reach the Eternal Life Realm, what use is Life Essence?"
His gaze turned world-weary as he looked beyond Wushang Sect. "Without the Wushang Dao, how many of those little ones outside do you think would still be alive?"
"Even among those few Eternal Life Realm experts guarding the four directions, who can say for certain that they'll reach Eternal Life?"
