Capturing tributaries of the River of Time wasn't difficult. The hard part was avoiding being drawn in by the Main River of Time. Harder still was finding civilizations and their tributaries. That was what took the most time.
If they could finish this in a thousand years, it would prove that Death Universe didn't destroy every civilization it encountered. It had its own criteria for choosing.
Lu Yin just didn't know what those criteria were.
Several decades passed. One day, Thousand Machine Strange Performance suddenly sought Lu Yin out and gave him a set of coordinates, telling him to deal with the civilization there.
Lu Yin was surprised. "That civilization isn't very far away. Why deal with it now?"
"Not too far, but not too close, either. The location of the Abyss changes. I can't keep an eye on everything nearby."
"And this civilization sent a signal to Death Universe."
Lu Yin's thoughts stirred. "A signal to Death Universe?"
"They used an Original Treasure Formation to broadcast a signal throughout Cubic Distance, one that only Death Universe could detect. You don't know about Fishing Civilization?"
Lu Yin replied naturally, "Of course I do. We just call it something different. We call it a frequency."
"It means the same thing. Since a signal came through, go deal with it. It's your duty as a being of Death Universe," Thousand Machine Strange Performance said.

Back in Nine Heavens Universe, Zhu had also been collecting Original Treasure Formations, gathering them from an entire civilization to broadcast coordinates and lure Death Universe over.
