Not long afterward, laughter reached the two of them.
It came from a towering mountain. The laughter sounded from its peak, where many creatures gathered. They seemed to belong to the same clan.
The two exchanged glances.
One of them drew his long sword. "Shall I?"
"Suit yourself."
"Actually, I don't like picking on the weak." As soon as he finished speaking, his sword flashed. He struck.
The void fell silent. He slid his sword back into its sheath.
A faint sound rang out.
The laughter stopped abruptly.
The entire starry sky had been split in two.
The mountain slid smoothly toward the lake, cleanly severed along the path of the sword strike.
All around it, countless creatures stared in a daze, mouths agape. It was as if heaven and earth themselves had been cut apart.
Two figures rose into the air, their gazes immediately falling on the two figures shrouded in mist. "Who are you?"
The two stood still.
The mountain crashed into the lake with a tremendous roar.
"Who are you people?" The two figures descended slowly, warily eyeing the cloud of mist.
Splitting the void was no difficult feat. The difficult part was that they had been unable to sense it beforehand. They hadn't realized what had happened until the mountain was cut apart.
If that sword strike had been aimed at them instead of the mountain, they couldn't even imagine what the consequences would have been.
The thought filled them with terror.
The mist parted, and a figure stepped out. "I'll give you a chance to make your move."
"Who are you, exactly? Why are you coming after us? You must be a cultivator from the Divine Palace too." The speaker was the current Lord of this Sealed Domain, and the creature who had been laughing
