"How did you do that just now?" Lu Yin asked curiously.

The Blind Man laughed. "Was that this young friend's way of asking this old man to show his sincerity?"

Lu Yin nodded. "You could put it that way. It'll let you speak in peace for a while."

The Blind Man let out a breath of relief. "Very well. Then I can tell you, young friend. That was the Law of Cosmic Harmony—the compliant and the contrary."

Lu Yin realized that without an explanation, he simply couldn't understand the laws governing many creatures.

With so many arrows, there are bound to be trajectories that intersect with the arrows young friend fires next. Once I find such an intersection, I can change an arrow's direction and make young friend's own arrows collide with one another."

Lu Yin exclaimed in admiration, "That's a formidable ability."

"You flatter me, young friend. This is the sincerity I've shown—exchanging my own secret for a chance to speak. Do you agree?" the Blind Man asked.

Lu Yin put his hands behind his back. "Fine. Speak."

Having roughly gauged the Blind Man's strength, Lu Yin wasn't confident he could deal with him. He could only stabilize the situation for now.

The Blind Man made an inviting gesture. Lu Yin boarded the black-canopied boat and sat opposite him.
