These creatures, called Gray Crows, disliked sunlight. They preferred to live in dark, damp places filled with an unpleasant stench. As a result, the entire Gray Realm grew filthy and humid. Even the gases floating in the air were gray-green, and you could almost see the microorganisms swimming through them.
As more and more Gray Crows appeared, the realm eventually became theirs.
It wasn't that no one had tried to eradicate them. A superpower existed among their ranks, one almost as strong as a peak cultivator of the Three Dao Laws. And because Gray Crows could get in anywhere, they had, over countless years, seized control of more than half the Gray Realm's territories. They could even wage a Realm War, and the realm had fallen entirely under their control.
Over time, the Gray Crows' influence made the Gray Realm so filthy that cleaning it up became no easy task. The outside realms eventually gave up on trying to wrest it from them.
Most living beings refused to enter the Gray Realm. Only those who couldn't survive elsewhere, were being hunted, or had lost all hope would take refuge there. But they had a hard time even in the Gray Realm. A Gray Crow might be timid alone, but in a group, they grew bold. Though most were weak, they always came in enormous swarms, seemingly without end. They didn't care how many died, and no one in the Gray Realm dared provoke them.
Superpowerhouses could slaughter Gray Crows, but they were afraid of drawing out the strongest one among them. So in the Gray Realm, the Gray Crows ruled supreme. Anyone who wanted to survive there had to pay tribute to them.
