Jian Ye's gaze turned cold. The thing hated nothing more than people calling it Jian Feng's younger brother. Its talent was clearly no worse than his, so why couldn't it inherit Sword Manor? Why did the outside world have to humiliate it like this? That was what had driven it to Calamity Realm for the first time.
Because of its unique nature, Calamity Realm offered other forms of gambling besides betting Power of Calamity to increase or weaken one's cultivation.
Jian Ye had won a bet on Power of Calamity. But the more it learned about the power's nature, the less it dared to gamble with it. Still, being in Calamity Realm, it had been drawn to the other forms of gambling. That was how it ended up with the IOU.
"Why do you have my IOU?" Jian Ye's voice grew colder.
Lu Yin smiled. "Want it back? Take me to Jian Feng."
"Who are you?" Jian Ye asked.
Lu Yin didn't waste words. He lit the IOU again.
Jian Ye immediately struck, thrusting its sword with considerable force.
But Kou clamped its jaws around the blade and snapped it in two.
Jian Ye couldn't even pull its sword free. It stared at Kou in shock. A glint as cold as an abyss shone in Kou's eyes. The pressure of Three Dao Laws and its blood-soaked, battle-hardened aura forced Jian Ye backward step by step. It didn't dare meet Kou's gaze.
Lu Yin gave the IOU a casual wave. "Or you can bring Jian Feng to see me. I'll wait."
Jian Ye's pupils flickered as it looked at Lu Yin, seated on Kou's back. It couldn't make out his form, and that only made it more uneasy. "Who are you, exactly?"
Lu Yin patted Kou.
Kou charged at Jian Ye.
