Hai Qiqi swayed, and the blue glow vanished. Her face had turned pale, and she looked much weaker.
Lu Yin hurried to support her, but she pushed him away and left on her own.
Jiu Jiu stepped forward. "That man headed toward North Palace Territory. He didn't stop."
Lu Yin nodded. Fire Lord had been scared witless. He was far too afraid of dying.
Wendy Yu Shan spoke up. "Go comfort her. We owe her our lives."
Lu Yin murmured in agreement. "I'll leave the rest to you." Then he went after Hai Qiqi.
Hai Qiqi reached the shore. The coastline had collapsed, and much of the sea had been evaporated by Fire Lord's power. Even now, steam rose from the water.
She reached one hand into the sea, her eyes full of sorrow.
Lu Yin appeared behind her. This was the first time he had seen Hai Qiqi like this. After what had happened to Sea King, she had grown up overnight. Just now, she had taken on the promise of Sea King's Heaven. She was no longer simply the sharp-tongued girl who loved to argue with people.
"I used to think my father was the greatest person in the universe. There wasn't anything he couldn't handle, and no one dared stand against him," Hai Qiqi said dejectedly, her voice low.
Lu Yin sat beside her and looked at her. "Sea King is indeed powerful, but the universe has no visible edge. No one is invincible. Still, I believe nothing has happened to him."
Hai Qiqi raised her hand. A blue glow flickered, then disappeared. "My father's power is gone."
Lu Yin was puzzled. "Was that all the power Sea King infused into you?"
Hai Qiqi hugged her knees. "That man was an Enlightenment Realm Expert."
Lu Yin understood.
