People had countless choices in life. Some spent their long years building families and expanding their influence, while others preferred to live in peace and quiet, perhaps teaching a disciple or two to venture into the world and become reclusive masters.

He and Lu Yin had never been particularly close. Their few encounters had taken place in the Heavenly Origin Universe, back when Ancestral realm cultivators rarely showed themselves. Even so, that didn't stop him from owing Lu Yin a debt of gratitude.
Lu Yin had protected the Heavenly Origin Universe, invaded the Spiritualized Universe, faced the calamity that struck the Threefold Universe, and taken Xiang City away. Bu Jian Guang had been there through it all, just like countless others from the Heavenly Origin Universe.
No matter how little he knew Lu Yin, the debt he owed him was greater than the heavens.
So when he learned the truth, he too severed his ties with the Heavenly Sect. Over the long years, the Heavenly Sect had sought him out, as had Lord Mi's nonhuman cultivators, but he had never considered working for Lord Mi. He never would.
He only wanted to take on a few disciples, teach them when he felt like it, and walk the world alone, taking in the prosperity of the age.
