"How do you know?" Miss Qing asked, puzzled.
Young Master Bai pointed his folding fan at his own head. "I have my ways. Don't ask too many questions."
Miss Qing's gaze flickered.
"If you don't trust me, you can leave," Young Master Bai said with a smile.
Miss Qing looked at Lu Yin. Bai had looked, and Lu Yin was still pretending to be silent.
Miss Qing sighed helplessly. "Let's go."
Young Master Bai smiled, then leaped into the lake. Lu Yin and Miss Qing followed one after the other.
The lake was deep, but the three of them quickly reached the bottom. With a light tap of Young Master Bai's folding fan, the lakebed split open. A tremendous suction force drew the water inside, forming a whirlpool. The three of them followed the water into the space beneath the lake.
There was another layer of space beneath the lake. As soon as the three of them landed, cracks appeared in the space around them. Lu Yin's expression changed. This was bad—the space was collapsing.
Young Master Bai and Miss Qing realized it too and hurried to escape. Lu Yin was a little faster than they were. They had only just entered when they came rushing back out with a bang. The water in the inner lake immediately vanished, and the space shattered, turning a vast area into fragments.
In the distance, Young Master Bai said helplessly, "It's been too long. That space had grown terribly fragile over time. There's nothing we can do. Whatever was inside must be gone."
Miss Qing lamented, "To own a residence like this in the city and even construct an underground space, its owner must have been an elder-level powerhouse. What a pity."
