The disciple was unwilling to give up. Seeing Lu Yin and the others approaching, he thought they were trying to snatch the arrow. Without thinking, he grabbed it again. Another scream followed. This time, not only his hands but even his hair was burned away by the intense heat.
Tao Xiang burst out laughing.
The disciple snorted, got to his feet, and stood off to the side, looking at Lu Yin provocatively as if he wanted to see him make a fool of himself.
Gong Chou smiled and shook his head. With Lu Yin's strength, he could easily pick up this arrow.
Suddenly, the fiery-red arrow trembled, then shot into the air and flew away, landing in someone's hand in the distance.
Everyone looked over in surprise. It was someone they knew: Shao Ziyu.
Shao Ziyu gazed smugly at Lu Yin and the others, casually twirling the arrow in his hand. "Sorry, everyone. The divine arrow chose its master, and I got here first."
Gong Chou said nothing.
Tao Xiang snapped angrily, "What a lucky bastard."
Shao Ziyu sneered. "I hear the Sect Master allowed you to choose five arrows. I advise you to pick them at the foot of the mountain. Otherwise, you might not live long enough to take them away."
"You dare threaten us?" Tao Xiang roared.
Gong Chou stepped forward and said sternly, "Shao Ziyu, watch your attitude. These people are esteemed guests of the Sect Master."
Shao Ziyu sneered and continued to toy with the arrow, looking at Lu Yin with a mocking, openly provocative expression.
Lu Yin hadn't been interested in that arrow to begin with. He had only come over out of curiosity. Among all the arrows on Arrow Mountain, that one wasn't even particularly impressive. He looked farther up the mountain and
